Rick has been exhibiting fine furniture pieces and staircases in galleries and shows throughout the Northeast. His staircases have appeared in publications that include Architectural Digest, American Craft Magazine, the New York Times, and the Burlington Free Press. In 1984, Rick received first prize in the architectural category for a grand tapering spiral staircase on exhibit at the show "The Woodworker" in Philadelphia. He has appeared on the Discovery Channel with Lynette Jennings, Design in a 1998 interview when he demonstrated his spiral staircase technique from his Bristol, Vermont workshop. In May of 2002 Rick was filmed again for an episode of Modern Masters with Lynette Jennings that aired on HGTV (Home and Garden TV) in the Fall of 2003.
